The City of West Concord is asking residents and property owners to help keep yards, sidewalks, boulevards, and properties clean and well maintained.
Mowing grass, trimming weeds, picking up litter, keeping sidewalks clear, and properly storing vehicles, trailers, materials, and equipment all help make West Concord look better for residents, visitors, and those who may be interested in moving to or doing business in our community.
Residents are also reminded to please avoid blowing grass clippings into the street, curb, or storm sewers. Grass clippings can wash into storm drains, clog drainage areas, and create slippery conditions on streets. Please blow grass back into your yard or collect it for proper disposal.
The intent of Chapter VI of the West Concord City Code is to help keep the city safe, clean, and inviting. The code is meant to avoid obstructions of public streets and sidewalks, improve traffic visibility, and maintain the character of residential and business neighborhoods.
Our city code, Chapter VI, also focuses on preserving the peace, safety, health, welfare, comfort, and convenience of residents while reducing the negative effects of litter, overgrown vegetation, nuisance parking, and outdoor storage. These issues can affect not only how a property looks but also neighboring properties and overall property values.
Residents are reminded that grass and weeds should be kept mowed, junk and debris should be removed, and sidewalks should remain clear. Outdoor storage should be limited and kept neat, especially in residential neighborhoods.
The City understands that many residents have outdoor projects, home improvements, trailers, campers, and extra equipment from time to time. The concern is when these items become long-term clutter, block visibility, spill into public areas, or affect nearby properties.
Thank you to the residents, property owners, and businesses who take pride in their properties and help keep West Concord a clean, safe, and welcoming place to live, work, and visit.
