The Hayfield Grocery, Hardware and Liquor Store had an open house this past weekend to commemorate their first year in business. Store owner Shikhar Kanki and his wife live in Rochester and staff the store with help from a couple part time employees. The 5,000 square foot grocery store offers a full selection of fresh meat, dairy, eggs and produce along with the canned and dry goods, bread and frozen products. He has reset the store with a more convenient and friendly arrangement of the display aisles and recently finished an upgrade of the freezers and cold storage. They are proud to offer a complete selection from your grocery shopping needs. The hours of the grocery store are 9am to 9pm Monday through Thursday, 9am to 10pm Friday and Saturdays and 9am to 8pm on Sundays.
In addition to the grocery store there is also a hardware department attached to the store to meet the needs of local handymen and home maintenance and improvement projects. You can find nuts and bolts, tools, paint supplies and many small items without leaving town.
The liquor store is open Monday through Saturday 9am to 9pm and 11am to 6pm on Sundays. There is also a laundromat with a separate entrance with six standard size washers and dryers and an extra big washer and dryer for large loads, heavy coats or quilts.
