Morley Allen Peterson, 81, of West Concord, passed away on January 19, 2024, at Benedictine Living Community in Owatonna.

Born on February 16, 1942, in Owatonna, Minnesota, to Ernest and Blanche (Bogues) Peterson, Morley grew up and attended school in Dodge Center and later earned an Associate Degree in diesel engine repair from Rochester Technical College.

Morley married Karen Karel on June 17, 1967, in Red Lake Falls, Minnesota, and they built their life together in West Concord, raising their children, Julie and Daniel. Morley had a career as a small engine mechanic at Sears Service Center and Earl's Small Engine Repair, and he also owned a stump-cutting business.

Upon retirement, Morley embraced the joys of life, engaging in activities such as fishing, camping with friends, coffee gatherings with the guys, and exploring town and beyond on his beloved scooter. A dedicated community member, he was involved in Trinity Lutheran Church, received the West Concord Citizen of the Year award in 2010, and volunteered his time for community projects. His legacy is one of commitment, family, and a passion for the simple pleasures in life.

Morley is survived by his wife, Karen Peterson of West Concord; children, Julie Peterson of Apple Valley and Daniel Peterson of Shakopee and siblings, Shirley Tate and Wayne Peterson, both of Aurora, Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Blanche Peterson.

Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home, West Concord Chapel on Friday, January 26th from 4:00 - 7:00 PM and at church one hour prior to the service. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church, West Concord with Pastor Chad Christensen officiating. Private interment will be held at a later date.
