The Dodge Center Chamber honored their Business Person of the Year at the February meeting. Pete Henslin of the Safeway Insurance Agency was chosen for 2026.
Pete grew up in the Dodge Center area and graduated from Triton in 2004. After graduating from University of Wisconsin-River Falls he moved back to Dodge Center, where he now resides with his wife, also from Dodge Center, and their four children.
Pete first worked as an agronomist for a local Co-op and then at a bank in Owatonna before his current position as owner and agent at Safeway Agency. He is involved with day-to-day operations, servicing clients and marketing for new business.
Pete is active at Grace Lutheran Church in Dodge Center, a supervisor on the Ashland Township Board and sits on a few other community boards.
He also enjoys farming, running, spending time with family and friends and being involved in activities with his three daughters and one son.
Pete sees Dodge Center as a vibrant community with a great school, lots of supportive local businesses and many amenities not available in other towns this size.
His view of the future includes support for the existing businesses here and growth by keeping money spent and invested in growing the local community.
